We initiated the SP Ambassador Program starting with a collaboration with Michael Miller Fabrics a year ago. The goal was to provide free collaborating opportunities for members of our SP Community wordwide. We wanted to give as many people as we could a chance to showcase their work because we know there’s so much untapped talent out there! To date we have had over 70 Ambassadors worldwide! Pretty awesome right? Truth be told, 2017 was a year of testing and trial error to figure out what worked best for the program and all involved. It was important to us to make possible PAID collaborations within the Ambassador program a reality, and so a part of the revamp is that this is now possible! The new SP Ambassador program will be structured into 3 tiers – the highest being the Diamond Tier. Diamond Ambassadors will receive fabric after every #FabricFriyaaay and will get paid per project as well as a couple other benefits. There is a strick set of guidelines for one to attain Diamond status once invited to join the program at Tier #1, but we will disclose all this information in a couple months once the legalities are finalized.
To decide on Diamond Ambassadors we asked for feedback from Michael Miller Fabrics since they were the first collaborating SP Business Member to facilitate the SP Ambassador Program. It took 6 months for us to handpick the first 4 SP Diamond Ambassadors as we had to revisit all 70+ of our original Ambassador posts to determine who really did their best to promote and highlight both SP and MMF not just for their specific posts, but for times outside of that. The first 4 are also US based simply because we wanted to introduce them during the Candice Ayala’s Upcycling Challenge and shipping time would not be on our side for those outside the US. BUT rest assured, we have every intention of having Diamond Ambassadors WORDWIDE!
So without further ado, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the FIRST FOUR SP DIAMOND AMBASSADORS, who will be KICKING OFF Candice Ayala’s Upcycling Challenge next week! [sidenote: If you haven’t signed up for the challenge yet, do it now! So many free goodies to win! And wait until you hear about the first prize! 😉 ]

Cassy of Pear Berry Lane is a wife, mother, teacher, sewist, blogger, and drinker of coffee. She began blogging as a way to share her sewing creations and pattern testing. Cassy mainly sews for her three daughters, but every once in a while you’ll find her popping onto the blog with a make for herself. She loves stretching herself by tackling projects where she can develop her skill set. Cassy learned to sew through immersion into the world of Independent Pattern Designers. Most recently Cassy competed in Season 15 of Project Run and Play and finished as the winning designer. This has really gotten her juices flowing with possibilities of pattern designing in the future. She loves the sewing community that she has become part of over the last few years and is always looking for new friends to collaborate wit
Gemia creates, sews, blogs, and sells her Children’s PDF Patterns at Phat Quarters. You can find her on Instagram, Facebook, & Pinterest under the same name. When she’s not creating she’s enjoying her favorite role as wife and mother. She has been married for over 16 years to a crazy adventurous man! They have five children together, ranging in ages from 13 to 5, three girls and two boys. As a family they love to hike & adventure outdoors. Gemia is also passionate about scrapbooking & photography. While she does love photographing her children and other families, she also loves to photograph nature. She also works part time in education helping children build self-awareness, cognitive, & study skills.
Liesel of It’s Liesel is a seamstress from Kansas, who has been sewing fast and furiously for about the last 6 years. She began learning mostly by upcycling, and continues to enjoy doing that, though the allure of beautiful fabrics has pulled her away from doing it as often as she should. She has four children, whom she home schools, and has been married for 12 years to her supportive husband. She most enjoys sewing for her kids, and nieces and nephews. Other hobbies include photography, playing piano, drinking coffee, and thrifting.
Steph of The Eli Monster has been sewing for as long as she can remember. She made garments for her store for about 7 years until her children were older and her husband’s schedule allowed them to travel more for his various work things. She digitized many of the paper patterns she developed while sewing physical items for sale and started selling PDF patterns 3 years ago and hasn’t looked back! She’s designed patterns in a camper in WI, in a yurt in CO and in a furniture-less apartment in AL and it’s been some of the best times! Right now, she is working in her studio in a log cabin overlooking Mesa Verde National Park (for reals, she can see it from her window) and it’s magical!
We’re really excited that these 4 ladies have accepted their roles and responsibilities of being a SP Diamond Ambassador which includes being a mentor and guide to beginning Ambassadors eager to reach Diamond status! THERE IS SO MUCH COLLABORATING OPPORTUNITIES TO GO AROUND and we’re pretty excited to share the entire revamp with you soon, so if you are one of the original set of Ambassadors, or you have been wanting to become one, just hang tight!! IT’S COMING!!!
